The Artist

Ever since a was a kid growing up in the Detroit area we would take trips to the city and I was always fascinated by the "city" life and the buildings, graffiti and the edgey charm of the Motor City. I have lived in Chicago, San Franciso and now Los Angeles but I always go back to the streets of Detroit for my art. Through the decades I have had many iterations of my Detroit series and this current collection brings together the raw energy of the city and it's controversial history. The color palettes I chose create an intense, vibrant and multilayered story, much like the City itself.

My inspiration in texture and form from Detroit also plays in to my love of Fashion. I created pieces for this collection that are influenced by vintage and modern designers. The texture, shape, color and form in my abstract pieces come directly from the refined and rebellious designs of some of my favourite designers.
